Large Eddy Simulation of a Mechanically Agitated Tank

This animation shows the transient flow behaviour near the surface of a mechanically agitated tank, calculated with the Large Eddy Simulation approach. Velocity vectors are shown in a horizontal slice covering a 1/4 sector of the tank with periodic boundaries in the circumferential direction.

If the animation does not load or is of poor quality, try running this compiled Smacker file: x5.exe (4.1MB).

Note that this is an executable file, and should be suitable for all PCs running Win95 or later. For more information about Smacker and its compiled executables, please follow this link.
